Most men receive their first flowers at their own funeral. And in New Zealand, where self-harm amongst men is way too high, we’re having too many funerals. So, because most Kiwi men don’t give each other flowers but they will chat over a beer, we worked with Yeastie Boys and mental health charity I am Hope, to create the Blokequet – a low alcohol beer made with flowers. Designed to provoke conversations and encourage blokes to catch up for a chat about how they’re really getting on, each can is a donation to I am Hope.
